It's official
We're going to India! Jason's job is all straightened out and he starts work on June 1st. We haven't figured out travel plans yet (we're trying to survive to the end of the school year and clarify what and how the company will help pay) but at least we have a start date. We would like to see if we can make a stop in Athens on our way over for a couple of days. Partly to see Athens but also to break up the trip and begin the huge transition necessary in a 10 hour time difference. Jason will be working for the India office of the architecture firm that he has been working with part-time during the school year. He had a phone conversation with them the other day and discussed what he would be doing for them, seeing as he isn't a licensed architect. They said he could pretty much do what he wants. Also, the firm owns a few apartments in a complex near the office and they would be providing us with a spacious 3 bedroom place. The third bedroom is with the understanding that we would let people stay in it who are coming over for a shorter amount of time, like a couple of days. I have no problem with that. It feels good to have this part of our future travels pinned down.
